Happy Birthday wishes are in order.

I would just like to wish my dad a happy birthday.  I’ve concluded he’s hit the ripe age of 43 today.

(Don’t worry, he did get a call from me!)

Also, the “apple household” is excited about the introduction of the iPad.  Nick had some doubts about it, but looked into it a little more and it seems promising.

This product looks like it has some great capabilities, and is worth checking out.  Enjoy!

(Dad, I’m starting on my Christmas list early this year!)

Love,

Katy

Congratulations

Congratulations to Elishia and Sammy Licavoli on the arrival of Addyson Rose.   Mother and baby are doing well.  We wish the new family all of God’s blessings.    Oh, couldn’t help but noticing the huge grin on Grandpa’s face too.

Now Sammy, there is an offical weight and length recorded (7lbs 7.6oz and 19 inches long),   so no “Fish Tales”, eh?

Arthur Clokey Dies

Arthur Clokey, the creator of Gumby and Davey and Goliath passed away on January 9, 2010.  His obituary can be found here.   As you may recall, Mr. Clokey had ties to the Millington area in his youth.  He credited the birth of Gumby to the time that he spent at his grandparent’s farm in Millington.  Click here for posts and comments that were written on the Old Millington Guys blog last year.

The Future of Entertainment

onlive video games on demand

Who ever thought that you could stream movies anytime over the internet on your big screen? You can through Netflix and blockbuster. What is this Pandora Internet Radio you speak of that searches the world’s most extensive archive of music matching up other unknown artists that fit the same mold and that’s right you can have that on you TV and listen to it over you home theater surround sound system if you have one.

Now enter the first media-less (no disk or cartridge) on demand video game system called onlive. It is slated to launch soon and is the brainchild of the man who created QuickTime for Apple. I will let you check it out yourself at http://onlive.com but stop and think one day you won’t wait to watch or play or listen to anything you will go to one service that has all these things and you get them instantly on your TV over the world wide web.

Millington Hotel Postcard

Millington Hotel for web

Dad gave this postcard to me the other night.  Its another of the Millington Hotel located at the corner of State and Main.  I’m assuming it was taken in the early 1940’s, as the lower left picture indicates that a Blue Star Mother was either the owner or a resident of the hotel.  The chicken dinner sign says that it’s “Frankenmuth Style”,  possibly meaning family style.  Here is another post of a Millington Hotel postcard.   Any thoughts?
